Unplug the Keurig and remove the water reservoir
Empty any remaining water from the reservoir
Fill the reservoir with white vinegar (do not use cider vinegar)
Place the reservoir back on the machine
Put a large mug on the drip tray to catch liquid
Ensure there is no K-Cup in the holder
Plug in the Keurig
Run a brew cycle using the largest size setting
Discard the vinegar from the mug
Repeat brew cycles until the reservoir is empty
Let the machine sit for 30 minutes
Refill the reservoir with fresh water
Run brew cycles with the largest size setting until the reservoir is empty
Repeat with fresh water 1–2 more times if you still smell vinegar
Rinse and clean the K-Cup pod holder and funnel with warm, soapy water
Wipe the exterior and rinse the drip tray and lid
Reassemble all parts
Run one final brew cycle with fresh water (no K-Cup) before using again
