Turn off and unplug the Keurig
Remove the water filter, if installed
Empty the water reservoir
Remove any used K-Cup pod
Fill the reservoir with descaling solution and water, or white vinegar and water if using that method
Place a large mug on the drip tray
Run a brew cycle without a pod
Discard the mug contents
Repeat until the reservoir is empty
Let the machine sit for 30 minutes
Rinse the reservoir thoroughly
Fill the reservoir with fresh water
Run multiple water-only brew cycles until the reservoir is empty
Repeat rinsing cycles if needed until no descaling solution or vinegar remains
Reinstall the water filter, if removed
Wipe the machine clean
Plug the Keurig back in and use normally
