Turn off the Keurig and unplug it
Remove the water reservoir, lid, drip tray, and any K-Cup pod
Empty the reservoir and wash removable parts with warm soapy water
Reassemble the machine
Fill the reservoir with Keurig descaling solution and water, or white vinegar and water if using that method
Place a large mug on the drip tray
Plug in the machine and power it on
Run a brew cycle without inserting a K-Cup
Discard the hot liquid
Repeat brew cycles until the reservoir is empty, using the mug to catch each cycle
Let the machine sit for about 30 minutes if using descaling solution
Rinse the reservoir thoroughly
Fill the reservoir with fresh water
Run multiple rinse brew cycles with no K-Cup until the water runs clear and no odor remains
Wipe the exterior and drip tray dry
Reinstall all parts and use the machine normally
