Bring a large pot of water to a boil
Add chow mein noodles to the boiling water
Cook according to the package directions, usually 2 to 5 minutes
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking
Taste a noodle to check for doneness
Drain the noodles in a colander
Rinse with cold water if needed to stop cooking and reduce sticking
Toss with a little oil if not using immediately
Use in your chow mein recipe or stir-fry immediately
