How To Cook Fava Beans?

Rinse the fava beans

If using fresh pods, shell the beans

If the beans have tough skins, blanch them in boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes

Drain and peel off the skins if desired

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil

Add the fava beans

Cook fresh beans for 3 to 5 minutes until tender

Cook dried beans after soaking them overnight for 45 to 60 minutes until soft

Drain the beans

Season with salt, pepper, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, or herbs

Serve warm or use in salads, soups, or dips
