How To Do Chestnut?

Choose fresh chestnuts with smooth, shiny shells and no cracks

Rinse the chestnuts under cold water

Cut an X into the flat side of each chestnut

Soak the chestnuts in water for 20 to 30 minutes if desired

Preheat the oven to 400°F

Place the chestnuts cut-side up on a baking sheet

Roast for 20 to 25 minutes until the shells peel back

Remove from the oven and cover with a towel for a few minutes

Peel off the shell and inner skin while still warm

Eat the chestnuts plain or use them in recipes
