Measure apparent power in volt-amperes (S)
Use the formula: Power Factor = P / S
If voltage and current are known, use: Power Factor = P / (V × I)
If the phase angle is known, use: Power Factor = cos(θ)
For AC circuits, determine the phase difference between voltage and current
Use a power meter or power analyzer to read power factor directly
