Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Verify power is off with a voltage tester
Remove the old fixture if present
Install a fan-rated ceiling electrical box
Assemble the ceiling fan according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling box
Connect the fan wires to the house wires
Connect black to black for fan power
Connect blue to black for light power if applicable
Connect white to white for neutral
Connect green or bare copper to ground
Secure wire connections with wire nuts
Tuck wires into the electrical box
Attach the fan motor to the mounting bracket
Install fan blades
Install the light kit if included
Install bulbs and glass shades if applicable
Restore power at the breaker
Test the fan and light operation
Check fan balance and tighten all screws if needed
