How to Find the Impulse?

Use the impulse formula: (J = FDelta t)

If force changes with time, use: (J = int F,dt)

Use the momentum form: (J = Delta p = m(v_f – v_i))

Identify the mass, initial velocity, and final velocity

Calculate the change in velocity: (v_f – v_i)

Multiply the mass by the change in velocity

If force and time are given, multiply force by time

If force varies, find the area under the force-time graph

Express the result in newton-seconds or kilogram-meters per second
