How to Find Velocity in Physics?

Velocity = displacement ÷ time

Use the formula v = Δx / Δt

Measure displacement in meters

Measure time in seconds

State direction with the value

Use units of m/s

For average velocity, use total displacement over total time

For instantaneous velocity, find the velocity at a specific moment

From a position-time graph, velocity = slope of the graph

If acceleration is constant, use v = u + at

If final and initial velocities are known, use v = (v_f + v_i) / 2 for average velocity under constant acceleration

If distance is given instead of displacement, convert to displacement first

Include positive or negative sign based on direction
