Replace or recharge the controller batteries
Turn the controller off and on again
Restart the Xbox Series X console
Move the controller closer to the console
Remove nearby wireless interference
Re-sync the controller using the pair button on the console and controller
Try connecting the controller with a USB-C cable
Update the controller firmware
Update the Xbox console system software
Power cycle the console by unplugging it for 30 seconds
Disconnect other wireless accessories temporarily
Test the controller on another Xbox or device
Reset the controller by removing batteries for a few minutes
Check for physical damage to the controller or console sync button
Contact Xbox Support if the controller still will not sync
