How To Get Contacts Out?

Wash and dry your hands

Look in a mirror if needed

Pull down your lower eyelid with one finger

Look upward

Pinch the contact gently with your thumb and index finger

Slide the contact down to the white of your eye

Remove it carefully

If the contact is stuck, add a few drops of sterile contact lens solution or artificial tears

Blink a few times and try again

If it still will not move, close your eye and massage the eyelid gently

If you cannot remove it, stop and seek help from an eye care professional

Do not use tweezers, fingernails, or sharp objects

If you wear a hard contact, use the same gentle method

If the contact is torn or uncomfortable, remove any remaining pieces carefully

If you have pain, redness, or vision changes, get medical help promptly
