Harvest outer leaves first, leaving the center growing point intact
Use clean scissors or a sharp knife to cut leaves about 1 to 2 inches above the base
Pick leaves when they are young and tender for best regrowth
Do not remove more than one-third of the plant at a time
Leave the inner leaves and crown untouched
Harvest in the morning when leaves are crisp and hydrated
Water the plant after harvesting to support new growth
Feed lightly with a balanced fertilizer if needed
Keep harvesting regularly to encourage continued leaf production
Stop harvesting once the plant starts to bolt or form a flower stalk
