How to Heal a Jellyfish Sting?

Get out of the water immediately

Rinse the sting with seawater

Do not rinse with fresh water

Remove tentacles with tweezers or a gloved hand

Do not rub the area

Soak the sting in hot water for 20 to 45 minutes

Use a cold pack if hot water is not available

Take an over-the-counter pain reliever if needed

Apply hydrocortisone cream or antihistamine cream for itching

Watch for trouble breathing, chest pain, swelling, or severe pain

Seek emergency help if symptoms are severe or spreading

Get medical care if the sting is from a box jellyfish or if symptoms worsen
