Gather an eyelet kit, fabric, cutting tool, hammer or setting tool, and a hard surface
Mark the eyelet location on the fabric
Reinforce the fabric with interfacing or a patch if needed
Cut a hole at the marked spot
Insert the eyelet through the hole from the front side
Place the matching washer or backing piece on the back side
Position the eyelet setter or anvil according to the kit instructions
Press or hammer the eyelet until it is firmly secured
Check that the eyelet is flat, tight, and centered
Repeat for any additional eyelets
