Gather the toilet seat, hinges, bolts, washers, nuts, and a wrench or screwdriver
Remove the old toilet seat by loosening the hinge bolts from underneath the bowl
Clean the toilet rim and bolt holes
Position the new seat over the toilet bowl
Align the hinge holes with the toilet bowl holes
Insert the bolts through the hinge holes and toilet bowl holes
Place washers and nuts underneath the bowl
Tighten the nuts evenly until the seat is secure
Check that the seat is centered and aligned properly
Open and close the seat to confirm smooth movement
Tighten any loose hardware if needed
