Choose tea: black, green, oolong, or herbal
Measure tea: use 1 cup water per 1 to 2 teaspoons tea (adjust to taste)
Use cold or room-temperature water
Add tea to a jar or pitcher
Pour in water
Stir gently
Cover and refrigerate
Steep for 8 to 16 hours
If using black tea: steep 12 to 16 hours
If using green tea: steep 8 to 12 hours
If using oolong: steep 10 to 14 hours
If using herbal: steep 6 to 12 hours
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter
Serve over ice
Optional: dilute with water to taste
Optional: sweeten after straining
Optional: add citrus, mint, or a splash of milk
Refrigerate and use within 2 to 4 days
