Use pancake mix as the base
Add 1 extra egg per 2 cups of pancake mix
Add 2 to 4 tablespoons of melted butter or oil per 2 cups of pancake mix
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar per 2 cups of pancake mix
Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract if desired
Add a little less liquid than the pancake mix directions call for
Stir until just combined
Let the batter rest for 5 to 10 minutes
Preheat the waffle iron
Grease the waffle iron if needed
Pour batter into the waffle iron
Cook until golden and crisp
Serve immediately
