How to Mount Cabinets?

Locate and mark wall studs

Measure and mark cabinet placement lines

Check for level and plumb reference lines

Remove cabinet doors and shelves if needed

Drill pilot holes through the cabinet back or hanging rail

Position the first cabinet on the layout line

Shim as needed to make the cabinet level

Clamp adjacent cabinets together if installing multiple units

Fasten the cabinet to the wall studs with appropriate screws

Recheck level and plumb after fastening

Install remaining cabinets, aligning faces and tops

Secure all cabinets together at the face frames or sides

Tighten all mounting screws

Reinstall doors and shelves

Fill gaps with trim or caulk if needed
