How to Plastic Weld?

Identify the plastic type and confirm it is weldable

Clean the surfaces thoroughly

Remove paint, grease, dirt, and oxidation from the weld area

Dry the parts completely

Align and clamp the pieces in position

Select a matching plastic welding rod or filler material

Use the correct welding method for the plastic

Heat the joint and filler material evenly

Press the softened plastic together to fuse the parts

Move steadily along the seam

Maintain consistent heat and pressure

Fill gaps with additional material as needed

Allow the weld to cool naturally

Trim or sand excess material if required

Inspect the weld for cracks, voids, or weak spots

Test the repair before putting the part back into service
