Place hard-boiled eggs in a single layer in a bowl
Cover with cold water (or ice water) for 5–10 minutes
Tap the egg all over on a hard surface to crack the shell
Roll the egg gently between your hands to loosen the shell
Start peeling from the wider end (often where an air pocket is)
Peel under running cold water to help loosen remaining shell pieces
If stubborn bits remain, use your fingers to pick them off or wipe with a damp paper towel
Peel only what you plan to eat immediately (or refrigerate peeled eggs in a covered container)
