Put on gloves if available
Remove excess water if the bowl is very full
Use a flange plunger if possible
Place the plunger over the drain opening
Make sure the cup is fully submerged in water
Press down gently to create a seal
Push and pull firmly without breaking the seal
Repeat several times with steady force
Lift the plunger slightly and plunge again if needed
Flush to check if the clog is cleared
Repeat plunging and flushing if necessary
Stop and call a plumber if the toilet still will not drain
