Wash hands with soap and water after using the bathroom and before eating
Clean high-touch surfaces regularly, especially in shared bathrooms
Avoid sharing towels, utensils, or personal items
Stay hydrated and maintain good nutrition during treatment
Report new diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, or blood in stool promptly
Tell your clinician if you have had C. diff before
Ask your clinician about your C. diff risk if you are older or immunocompromised
Use probiotics only if your clinician says they are appropriate
Seek medical care quickly if severe diarrhea develops
