Turn on the TV and DirecTV receiver
Slide the mode switch on the remote to the device you want to control
Press and hold MUTE and SELECT until the green light blinks twice
Enter the DirecTV remote code for your TV or device
Press POWER to test the remote
If the device turns off, press SELECT to save the code
If the device does not respond, repeat with a different code
Use the DirecTV remote setup menu if code entry does not work
Press MENU on the remote
Select Settings
Select Remote Control
Select Program Remote
Follow the on-screen prompts
Test volume, power, and input buttons
Repeat setup for additional devices if needed
