Clear the room and remove furniture
Wear gloves, safety glasses, and a dust mask
Cut the vinyl tile into smaller sections with a utility knife if needed
Lift a corner of a tile with a putty knife or floor scraper
Pry up the tile slowly to avoid damaging the subfloor
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften stubborn adhesive
Scrape off remaining adhesive with a floor scraper
Remove any underlayment or backing material if present
Dispose of the tiles and debris properly
Clean and inspect the subfloor before installing new flooring
