Open Microsoft Word
Click the View tab
Check the Ruler box in the Show group
If the ruler does not appear, make sure you are in Print Layout view
To show the vertical ruler, go to File
Click Options
Click Advanced
Scroll to Display
Check Show vertical ruler in Print Layout view
Click OK
