Open Microsoft Word
Go to File
Select Info
Click Manage Document or Manage Versions
Choose Recover Unsaved Documents
Open the recovered file
Save it immediately with a new name
Check the AutoRecover file location in Word options
Search for temporary Word files with .asd, .wbk, or .tmp extensions
Restore the file from OneDrive or SharePoint version history if applicable
Check the Recycle Bin or Trash for deleted Word files
Use File History, Time Machine, or backup software to restore the document
Search for previous versions of the file in Windows or macOS
Open Word and use Document Recovery if it appears after a crash
Repair the document by opening it through Open and Repair
Save recovered content to a new document
