How to Recover Word?

Open Microsoft Word

Go to File

Select Open

Click Recent

Look for the recovered document

Check the Document Recovery pane

Open the recovered version

Save the file immediately

Go to File

Select Info

Click Manage Document

Choose Recover Unsaved Documents

Open the available file

Save it with a new name

Check the Recycle Bin

Restore the deleted Word file if found

Search your computer for .docx or .doc files

Open Word

Go to File

Select Options

Click Save

Check AutoRecover file location

Open the AutoRecover folder

Find the latest backup file

Open it in Word

Save the document

Use OneDrive version history if the file was stored online

Right-click the file in OneDrive

Select Version History

Restore an earlier version

Use File History or backup software if available

Restore the document from a previous backup

Check temporary files in the system

Search for files with .tmp or ~ prefixes

Open the file in Word and save it

Restart Word if the recovery pane does not appear

Restart the computer if needed

Update Word if recovery features are not working

Contact Microsoft Support if the file still cannot be recovered
