Shut off the water supply
Open a faucet to relieve pressure
Locate the release collar on the SharkBite fitting
Use a SharkBite disconnect clip or disconnect tongs of the correct size
Slide the disconnect tool over the pipe and onto the fitting
Press the collar evenly toward the fitting
Pull the pipe straight out while holding the collar in place
If needed, twist the pipe slightly while pulling
Inspect the pipe end for damage before reuse
Replace the fitting if it is damaged or deformed
