Use a wine opener or corkscrew
Remove the foil or capsule from the bottle neck
Center the screw in the cork
Twist the screw into the cork
Pull the cork out slowly and steadily
If the cork breaks, use the remaining corkscrew grip to remove the rest
If no opener is available, push the cork into the bottle with a clean utensil
Wipe the bottle neck before pouring
