Turn off power to the lamp and unplug it
Remove the bulb and lampshade
Disassemble the lamp base or socket shell as needed
Take a photo of the existing wiring
Loosen the socket terminals and disconnect the wires
Remove the old socket
Strip the wire ends if needed
Connect the wires to the new socket terminals
Tighten the terminal screws securely
Reassemble the socket and lamp parts
Install the bulb
Plug in the lamp and test it
