Gather the correct spark plugs, spark plug socket, ratchet, extension, torque wrench, and gap tool if needed
Let the engine cool completely
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Remove any engine covers or components blocking access to the plugs
Label and remove one spark plug wire or ignition coil at a time
Blow away dirt and debris around the spark plug well
Remove the old spark plug with the spark plug socket and ratchet
Check the condition of the old plug if needed
Verify the gap on the new spark plug if required
Apply anti-seize only if specified by the manufacturer
Install the new spark plug by hand first
Tighten the spark plug to the manufacturer’s specified torque
Reinstall the ignition coil or spark plug wire
Repeat for the remaining spark plugs one at a time
Reinstall any removed covers or components
Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Start the engine and check for smooth operation and warning lights
