How To Separate First And Last Name In Excel?

Select the cells containing the full names

Go to the Data tab

Click Text to Columns

Choose Delimited

Click Next

Select Space as the delimiter

Click Finish

Use the LEFT, RIGHT, and FIND functions if you want formulas instead of splitting the cells

Use Flash Fill by typing the first name in one column and the last name in another, then press Ctrl+E
