Connect the Comcast modem or gateway to the coaxial cable outlet
Plug the modem or gateway into a power outlet
Wait for the power, downstream, upstream, and online lights to become stable
Connect a computer or phone to the modem or gateway using Ethernet or the default Wi-Fi details
Open a web browser and go to the Comcast activation page
Sign in with your Comcast account
Follow the on-screen steps to activate the internet service
If using a separate router, connect the router to the modem or gateway with an Ethernet cable
Power on the router and wait for the Wi-Fi light to become active
Find the default Wi-Fi network name and password on the modem, router, or setup card
Connect your devices to the Wi-Fi network using the network name and password
Open the Xfinity app or Comcast account settings to change the Wi-Fi name and password
Save the new settings and reconnect your devices to the updated Wi-Fi network
Restart the modem, router, and connected devices if the internet does not work
