Sudden shoulder pain after a fall, lift, or jerk
Pain when raising the arm overhead or away from the body
Weakness when lifting, rotating, or reaching behind the back
Inability to lift the arm fully
Pain that worsens at night or interrupts sleep
Clicking, popping, or catching in the shoulder
Tenderness around the outside or top of the shoulder
Loss of range of motion
Shoulder feels unstable or gives way
Pain that does not improve with rest
Symptoms lasting more than a few days after injury
