Verify the battery is fully charged
Check that the battery terminals are clean and tight
Locate the starter relay
Inspect the relay and wiring for damage, corrosion, or loose connections
Turn the ignition key to the start position and listen for a click
Use a multimeter to check for battery voltage at the relay input terminal
Check for voltage at the relay control terminal when the key is turned to start
Check for voltage at the relay output terminal while cranking
Swap the relay with an identical known-good relay if available
Test relay continuity with a multimeter
Test relay coil resistance with a multimeter
Apply 12 volts to the relay coil and confirm the relay clicks
Check for continuity between the switched terminals when the relay is energized
Replace the relay if it fails any test
