Check the power steering fluid level and top off with the correct fluid if needed
Raise the front wheels off the ground if possible
Turn the engine off
Turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock several times
Recheck the fluid level and add fluid if it drops
Start the engine
Turn the steering wheel slowly from lock to lock again
Keep the fluid reservoir topped off during the process
Watch for bubbles or foaming in the reservoir
Continue turning the wheel until bubbles stop appearing
Let the engine idle and recheck the fluid level
Lower the vehicle
Test the steering for smooth operation
Recheck for leaks and fluid level after the test drive
