Get out of the water immediately
Rinse the sting with seawater
Do not rinse with fresh water
Remove visible tentacles with tweezers or a gloved hand
Avoid rubbing the area
Soak the sting in hot water if available
Use water that is hot but not scalding
Keep the area submerged for 20 to 45 minutes
Take an oral pain reliever if needed
Apply a cold pack if hot water is not available
Watch for trouble breathing, swelling, or severe pain
Seek emergency help for serious symptoms
Get medical care if the sting is on the face, eyes, or genitals
Get medical care if symptoms worsen or do not improve
