Turn off the toilet’s water supply valve
Remove excess water from the bowl if it is near the rim
Pour a bucket of hot water into the bowl from waist height
Add dish soap to the bowl and wait 10 to 15 minutes
Use baking soda and vinegar, then wait before flushing
Use a toilet brush to break up the clog
Try a wire coat hanger with the end wrapped in cloth
Use a wet/dry vacuum if available
Repeat the hot water and soap method if needed
Flush only after the water level drops
Call a plumber if the clog does not clear
