How To Use A Plunger?

Choose the right plunger (cup plunger for sinks/tubs; flange plunger for toilets).

Ensure there is enough water in the bowl/sink to cover the plunger cup (add water if needed).

Place the plunger over the drain opening and form a tight seal.

Push down firmly to compress the water/air in the drain.

Pull up quickly to create suction.

Repeat several times with a consistent seal.

After the final plunge, lift the plunger straight up.

Check whether the water drains fully.

If it doesn’t clear, repeat the plunging sequence.

If overflowing occurs, stop and allow water level to drop before continuing.

If the clog persists, switch to a different plunger type or use a drain snake.

Wash the plunger with hot water and disinfectant after use.
