Clear the room and cover floors, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths
Remove nails, hooks, outlet covers, and switch plates
Clean the wall surface to remove dust, grease, and dirt
Repair holes, cracks, and dents with filler or spackle
Sand patched areas and rough spots until smooth
Wipe away sanding dust with a damp cloth or tack cloth
Apply painter’s tape to trim, edges, and areas you want to protect
Prime the wall if needed, especially on repairs, stains, or new drywall
Stir the paint thoroughly before use
Pour paint into a tray or bucket
Cut in around edges, corners, and trim with a brush
Roll paint onto the wall in small sections using a roller
Apply paint in overlapping strokes for even coverage
Let the first coat dry completely
Apply a second coat if needed
Remove painter’s tape before the paint fully hardens
Reinstall outlet covers, switch plates, and hardware
Clean brushes, rollers, and tools immediately after use
Allow the wall to cure fully before heavy contact or washing
