Park the vehicle on level ground
Turn off the engine and let it cool for a few minutes
Open the hood and locate the dipstick
Pull the dipstick out completely
Wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth or paper towel
Reinsert the dipstick fully
Pull it out again
Check where the oil film ends on the marked area
Read the level between the minimum and maximum marks
Add oil if the level is below the minimum mark
Do not overfill above the maximum mark
