Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Remove the old microwave if replacing one
Read the manufacturer’s installation template and instructions
Check that the cabinet, wall, and studs can support the unit
Locate and mark the wall studs
Mark the mounting plate position using the template
Drill the required holes for the mounting plate
Install the mounting plate securely into the studs and wall anchors
Prepare the cabinet for the top mounting bolts
If needed, install the power cord or hardwire connection according to local code
Lift the microwave into position with assistance
Hook the back of the microwave onto the mounting plate
Align the top of the microwave with the cabinet holes
Insert and tighten the top mounting bolts
Install the grease filters and charcoal filter if required
Connect the venting system if venting outside or recirculating
Restore power at the circuit breaker
Test the microwave, light, fan, and turntable
Verify the door closes properly and the unit is level
