How to Replace Outside Water Faucet?

Turn off the water supply to the faucet

Open the faucet to drain any remaining water

Remove the handle, escutcheon, and any trim pieces

Disconnect the faucet from the supply pipe or hose bib connection

Unscrew or cut away any caulk or sealant around the faucet

Remove the old faucet from the wall

Clean the mounting area and inspect the pipe for damage

Apply plumber’s tape or pipe joint compound to threaded connections if needed

Install the new outside faucet onto the pipe or fitting

Tighten all connections securely

Reinstall the trim, handle, and any exterior cover

Seal around the faucet with exterior-grade caulk if needed

Turn the water supply back on

Check for leaks and tighten connections if necessary

Test the faucet for proper flow and shutoff
