Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C)
Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil
Place a wire rack on the baking sheet (optional but helps crisping)
Lay bacon slices in a single layer without overlapping
Bake 12–18 minutes for thick-cut bacon (10–15 minutes for regular), until browned and crisp to your preference
Check at the lower end of the time range to avoid overcooking
Remove bacon with tongs and place on a paper-towel-lined plate to drain
Let stand 1–2 minutes to crisp as it cools
Save drippings in a heat-safe container for cooking use (optional)
Reheat leftover bacon in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–8 minutes or in a skillet over medium heat for 2–4 minutes
