How to Paint Timber Furniture?

Remove hardware and clean the furniture thoroughly

Sand the timber surface to remove the old finish and smooth imperfections

Fill any dents, holes, or cracks with wood filler

Sand again after the filler dries

Remove all dust with a vacuum, tack cloth, or damp lint-free cloth

Apply a suitable primer for timber

Let the primer dry completely

Lightly sand the primed surface if needed

Apply the first coat of paint with a brush, roller, or spray

Let the paint dry fully

Apply additional thin coats until the finish is even

Lightly sand between coats if needed

Let the final coat cure fully

Reattach hardware once the paint is completely dry

Apply a clear protective topcoat if desired
