How to Find Velocity from Position Time Graph?

Find the slope of the position-time graph

Use the formula velocity = change in position ÷ change in time

For a straight line, the slope is the constant velocity

For a curved line, find the slope of the tangent at the point of interest

A positive slope means positive velocity

A negative slope means negative velocity

A zero slope means zero velocity

Use units of position per time, such as m/s
