Insert the key into the ignition
Turn the key while gently turning the steering wheel left and right
Apply light pressure to the wheel in the direction that feels less resistant
Continue until the ignition turns and the wheel unlocks
If using a push-button start, press the brake and the start button while gently moving the wheel
If the wheel remains locked, check that the vehicle is in Park
If the key will not turn, try a spare key
If it still will not unlock, contact roadside assistance or a mechanic
