Turn on the device you want to control
Slide the mode switch on the DIRECTV remote to the device type you want to program
Press and hold MUTE and SELECT until the green light flashes twice
Enter the 5-digit code for your device
If the code is correct, the green light flashes twice
Test the remote functions
If the code does not work, repeat the steps with another code for your device
If needed, use the remote’s code search method
Press and hold MUTE and SELECT until the green light flashes twice
Enter 9 9 1
Press CHANNEL UP repeatedly until the device turns off
Press SELECT to lock in the code
Test the remote again
Repeat for any additional devices you want to control
