Use consistent units for distance and time
Common units: m/s, km/h, mph
If distance is in meters and time in seconds, speed is in m/s
If distance is in kilometers and time is in hours, speed is in km/h
Rearranged formulas:
Distance = speed × time
Time = distance ÷ speed
Example: 100 m ÷ 20 s = 5 m/s
